Seabrook Island is a beautiful gated community for those with an appreciation for privacy and rarely touched natural splendor. Freshfields Village provides a quaint outdoor shopping experience for those looking to shop locally and is located just off the round-a-bout outside of the Seabrook gates.
Patrons have to go no further to find banks, a medical center, or bookstore. A lovely sports shop, Seacoast Sports and Outfitters, has kayaks, bicycles, and other equipment for island living. There are shops to complete your perfect outfit for a night out, from finding the perfect outfit to selecting the finest gems at the local jewelry store. Shoes, of course, make the woman, and the Village doesn’t disappoint! There is a wonderful studio and art gallery that will memorialize your time at Seabrook as well. Don’t forget the kids, as there are fantastic toy stores that offer educational and fun options to the tots!
Food & Drink
Enjoying a day at Freshfields is easy when you’ve got coffee to keep you going. Grab a latte at Java Java, pick up a casual pizza at La Tela Pizzariea, enjoy a sandwich at Station Deli, or slide back in time with Vincent’s Soda Fountain that for breakfast, lunch or dinner in a low key atmosphere. The evening can be shared with friends at Hege’s bar that has fast become a local favorite. Marble Slab Creamery and King Street Grille offer other culinary delights to tease your tastebuds. The Village Market by Harris Teeter is the source for everything you need, including organic foods and gluten free items, to complete your picnics or barbecues at home.
Many family friendly events are held throughout the year in the Village. Spring concerts in the afternoons, breezy jazz evenings in the summer, and holiday festivals are just a sample of some of the fun offerings for parents and their children. The Charleston Public Library hosts a Book-Mobile on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 10-11:30 am. There are sip and strolls for the adults to enjoy while wandering through the stores at their leisure. In early Spring, the Village hosts a happy hour on Friday and Saturday evenings to kick off the end of Winter, and sippers may enjoy wine and beer samplings in Coastal Footwear, Coastal Palms Island Apparel, Palmetto Island featuring Tommy Bahama, and Seacoast Sports and Outfitters. Rentals & Hotels
The Andell Inn is a new hotel that recently opened in the Village itself as a part of the Marriott network. Guests enjoy a studio setting with a fully equipped kitchen, and they may choose either a one or two bedroom suite. Afternoon naps may be enjoyed on a sofa in the living room while the sea breeze floats in from the island. Other rental companies, Beachwalker Rentals and Windham Vacation Rentals, are available for guests to lease out cottages, villages and houses directly on Seabrook Island.
