Alan Fleming Tennis Tournament
You might already know about Seabrook’s luxury golf courses, but did you also know about our extensive involvement in tennis and racquet sport tournaments? Between our 15 professionally maintained clay courts and year-round instruction, our racquet sports are quite popular amongst locals and tourists alike. And with the annual Alan Fleming Tennis Tournament rapidly approaching, Seabrook Island’s Racquet Club is really kicking into gear!
The 33rd annual Alan Fleming Open Clay Court State Championship, organized by the Seabrook Island Racquet Club, is open to the public October 3rd through October 7th. Events will include Men’s and Women’s Singles and Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
As one of Seabrook Island’s very own cherished residents, Alan Fleming established this tournament with the help of his wife, Sally Fleming, in 1981. Today, the tournament is a South Carolina Level 1 State Championship event and hosts over 250 players from the Southeast and throughout the nation.
The Seabrook Island Racquet Club will provide snacks and coffee each day of the tournament, and lunch will be available for purchase. Guests will also have access to Club amenities, including golf courses, pools, the fitness center, horseback riding and more. Players will also have access to the shower facilities during the Tournament.
Looking for some evening fun? Socials at the Island House are free for players! Guests can also attend for an additional fee. Proceeds will benefit Respite Care Charleston, a nonprofit organization that provides support to those living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.
This year’s event is set to be a spectacular one. Don’t miss your chance to attend!
