Valentine’s Day Date Night Ideas Around Seabrook Island

With Valentine’s Day almost upon us, it’s time for another round of date night ideas on and around Seabrook Island (check out last year’s date night ideas here). Use them for the upcoming holiday or any other time you want to treat your significant other (or yourself!) to a romantic night out or a fun daytime excursion.

Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Menu Event at Palmetto and Bohicket’s

For a Valentine’s Day evening close to home, join your Seabrook Island neighbors for an evening of delicious foods from our very own chef. From 5:30 to 9 pm, gather in the Palmetto Room for a three-course meal filled with delicious and creative dishes. For the reasonable price of $65 per person, you and your loved one can enjoy the following:

Course One

Choose from the following four options:

• Blue Point oysters served with spicy cocktail sauce
• Blue Point oysters baked with lemon, bagna càuda, spinach, and romano bread crumbs
• Sticky lamb “lollipops” with Hoisin sauce, Asian pear-ginger chutney, and baby arugula
• Roasted beef and ricotta gnocchi with truffled brown butter, sage, smoked walnuts, chard, and Asiago/Focaccia Crumbs

Course Two

Choose one of these three options:

• Grilled prime filet mignon with potato and mushroom gratin, tempura portabello, asparagus, and bearnaise and bordelaise sauces
• Lobster tail Thermidor with hollandaise glacage, Carolina Gold rice, grits pilaf, and golden haricots vert
• Pistachio-dusted Chilean sea bass with coconut crab risotto, coconut-lemongrass broth, wilted greens, and pistachio oil

Course Three

• Flourless chocolate heart cake
• Blood orange mousse
• Chocolate-dipped long-stem strawberries

Spa Date at Urban Nirvana Spa & Salon

If you want to stay nearby your home base but leave the community, a spa date at Urban Nirvana in Freshfields Village is a great option. Couples massages can be booked in 30, 60, and 90-minute intervals by phone only.

Art & Wine Walk

If you and your loved one are self-proclaimed foodies, there’s no better place to be than in the heart of the Holy City. Sign up for a Charleston food history outing that comes with a culinary and history tour led by Charleston’s only certified chef tour guide, a cooking demo, and a handpicked lunch experience.

Cooking Class at Zero George Cooking School

For more personal attention in one of Charleston’s most renowned culinary schools, book a class at Zero George Cooking School. Each class is taught by Zero George’s Executive and Sous Chefs, Vinson Petrillo and Tyler Chavis. To maintain that one-on-one instruction, no more than nine students can take part in each session.

HeART of Charleston Art Walk

If you decided not to do the Freshfields Village art walk on Valentine’s Day (or if you and your Valentine are art buffs), consider doing the HeART of Charleston Art Walk on Saturday. This half-day event will take you on a guided tour of the Gibbes Museum of Art, the Waterfront City Gallery, the College of Charleston’s Halsey Institute, and Peggy Howe’s art studio.
