Featured Property Friday: Serenity on Bohicket Creek

Every once in a while, our agents venture off island to list a property. So when agent Emery told me a few weeks back that she was listing a deepwater ESTATE (cue the happy dance) just a short drive down Bohicket Road on Johns Island, I was over-the-moon excited. Spoiler alert: 3212 Bohicket Road lived up to the hype.

It was a JOY to sit and chat with the homeowner that day and learn the story of her home. She and her husband built back in 2000, and hand picked each and every exquisite detail. From the 10’ double front doors hand carved in Costa Rica to the gorgeous 5” Red Oak hardwood floors, every piece was thoughtfully chosen. I mean, have you ever seen prettier doorknobs?

The floor plan itself was built to take full advantage of the home’s view of Bohicket Creek. Straight through the front doors is a spectacular great room featuring a wall of large windows showcasing a one-of-a-kind view.

But first, to the right of the foyer is a quaint and cozy library. Featuring a gas-burning fireplace, built-ins, American Wormy Chestnut hardwood floors – which although sound gross, are seriously beautiful – it’s the perfect room for an at-home office.

I could gush about this room for several more paragraphs, but let’s get back to the great room. Effortlessly combining the living room, dining room and kitchen, this space is, simply put, massive. (We’re talking 41’ x 41’ big.) The living space features a fireplace, built-ins and wet bar.

And the kitchen? A chef’s dream. Features here include: custom Siematic cabinetry, a 4.5’ x 10’ center island covered with solid maple butcher block with salad sink, Subzero refrigerator, 2 Subzero refrigerator drawers, Scotsman wine chiller, Jenn-Air 6-burner microwave and Bosch dishwasher.

In the hallway directly behind the kitchen houses the perfect space for party prep: a large pantry and additional counter and cabinet space. This hallway also connects to the front family room.

On the opposite side of the first floor is the stunning master suite. Perfectly designed, this relaxing space has a fireplace, a large custom walk-in closet, and a marble bath with a garden tub, dual vanities and a walk-in shower.

Upstairs are two guest bedrooms with custom closets, an additional bath and a small family room. Let’s move on to the GROUNDS shall we?

3212 Bohicket Road is not only a uniquely beautiful home, it also sits on 5.5 acres of land. With access from the master suite and family room, and affording those views that we all yearn for, the rear deck is the perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee or evening happy hour.

A few steps down is a beautifully landscaped and lit 16’ x 50’ lap pool. To the left is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath guesthouse, perfect for rental income or out of town guests, a greenhouse and a 2-car garage.

Although there are far too many features to list here, other notable details include: a 900-bottle wine cellar, 715’ dock with pier head, floating dock, electric boat lift and lights, and hurricane shutters.

This is the epitome of a deepwater Johns Island estate in the prestigious Orange Hill Plantation section of Bohicket Road. With sunsets like these, why would you want to spend your nights anywhere else?

PS. I had an exceptionally hard time picking which photos to feature this week. Can you blame me? To see additional photos, check out 3212 Bohicket Road on our property search page.
