Seabrook Island Natural History Group (SINHG)

One of the island’s oldest and most active organizations, the Seabrook Island Natural History Group (SINHG) is dedicated to exploring and preserving the unique ecology, history, and culture of the Carolina Lowcountry. Members participate in educational programs, field trips, and maintain four walking trails that highlight the island’s diverse maritime environment. 

Seabrook Island Turtle Patrol

Committed to the conservation of sea turtles, the Seabrook Island Turtle Patrol plays a crucial role during the nesting and hatching season, typically from May to October. Volunteers patrol the beaches daily, identifying and monitoring nests, and collecting data to support the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources in tracking sea turtle reproductive performance. 

Seabrook Island Birders (SIB)

For bird enthusiasts, the Seabrook Island Birders group offers opportunities to observe and protect the island’s avian population. Members engage in bird walks, contribute to wildlife ordinances, and volunteer in monitoring programs, all aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of the island’s bird species. 

Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy

The Seabrook Island Green Space Conservancy is dedicated to preserving the island’s natural environment through land acquisitions and conservation easements. Since its inception in 2000, the Conservancy has successfully preserved numerous properties, ensuring that the island’s green spaces remain protected for future generations. 

Seabrook Island Artist Guild

With over 100 members from Seabrook Island, Kiawah Island, and Johns Island, the Seabrook Island Artist Guild fosters artistic expression within the community. The Guild provides opportunities for artists to learn, exhibit their work, and network through monthly meetings, workshops, and exhibitions, utilizing various media including oils, acrylics, watercolors, and more.

Seabrook Island Photography Club

Aimed at enhancing photography skills and appreciation, the Seabrook Island Photography Club welcomes members from beginners to professionals. The club’s activities include presentations from professional photographers, member image sharing sessions, field trips, and seminars, all designed to encourage and develop photographic talents within the community.
