Valentine’s Day Getaways in South Carolina
Happy Valentine’s Day! In honor of this holiday, our team put together a list of some of the best getaways in South Carolina for you and your loved one(s) to enjoy. Although Valentine’s Day is traditionally a romantic holiday, there are plenty of kinds of love to celebrate; the places on this list could be enjoyed by you and a significant other, a group of friends and family members, or even by yourself.
Seabrook Island
We think Seabrook Island is perfect for a wide variety of occasions, so of course we had to add it to the Valentine’s Day list! With our community’s statuesque oak trees draped regally in Spanish moss, you’ll feel like you’re entering an enchanted forest each time you drive home.
Seabrook has far more than looks. We have our fair share of upscale, romantic dining venues within the community, and we are also located nearby Freshfields Village. Reserve one of our dining venues and enjoy our chef’s world-class creations, or make the short drive to Freshfields for French cuisine at Hege’s or wine tasting at FortyEight Wine Bar and Kitchen.
During your stay, don’t forget to inquire about our equestrian center’s trail and beach rides. Both of these are open to riders of all levels.
Three Pines View Resort near Table Rock State Park
Located just 20 minutes outside of Table Rock State Park in Upstate South Carolina, Three Pines View Mountain Lodge offers exclusivity and magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A stay at Three Pines View means you get the proximity to nature (and the opportunity to hike or kayak on the lakes) with the creature comforts of a boutique bed and breakfast.
Pettigru Place Bed and Breakfast
For more of a city experience in the Upstate, Pettigru Place Bed and Breakfast offers travelers the proximity to those Blue Ridge Mountain hiking trails, plus downtown Greenville. This charming bed and breakfast welcomes guests with a glass of wine or sweet peach tea and only continues the hospitality from there. Choose from a number of their annual Valentine’s Day specials to enjoy wildflower bouquets, champagne, and chocolate-covered strawberries!
The Red Horse Inn in Landrum
The name gives it away — one of the main calling features of the Red Horse Inn in Landrum, South Carolina is its equestrian center. This award-winning country inn offers horseback rides, a wine bar, a spa, and unmatched service throughout your stay.
Downtown Charleston
To round out our list of Valentine’s Day getaways, we’re closing with Charleston itself. There’s a reason Travel + Leisure’s readers have voted the Holy City the best city in the United States for seven years in a row. From its captivating luxury hotels like the Belmond or the Dewberry to its unforgettable Southern and international cuisine from places like Virginia’s on King and FIG, Charleston has everything you need for a Valentine’s Day weekend with loved ones.
If you want to have the best of two of the locations on this list, you can rent a villa on Seabrook Island and drive into downtown Charleston to take in all of the famed Southern hospitality and eating experiences.
However you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day this year, we hope you have a wonderful time!
